Taste a Maritime Wine at Truro Vineyards

If you are a vino fan, don't miss a visit to Truro Vineyards during your stay at our Wellfleet hotel. With plenty of varietals to try and a food truck from acclaimed Blackfish on the property, it's a great place to grab an outdoor lunch. Plus, you'll sip and savor surrounded by grapevines and the scent of the sea. Pure heaven.

The Roberts family, who own Truro Vineyards, also run it — handling wine tastings, working in the gift shop, picking in the fields, and making the wine. Visit and learn about the art of maritime grape growing. Without a doubt, you'll be amazed at its yield of intense flavor and lush varietal character.

Truro Vineyards Storied History

Built in 1813, the farmhouse and its surrounding acreage was a well-run and respected farm selling grain and milk. Owned by the Rich family, the estate had a picturesque picket fence and a barn topped with a windmill. This, along with its setting between ocean and bay proved enticing to artist Edward Hopper. In 1930 he painted a work entitled Rich's House and returned a year later to paint Rich’s Barn.

Today, the estate’s warm, well drained sandy soil has prove to be a perfect spot for growing grapes. They grow right onsite and with the assistance of additional grapes from premium vineyards in Massachusetts, New York and California, produce more than a dozen varietals each year.
